United States .. Protesters topple another Confederate statue in Virginia's capital

Protesters toppled a statue of the President of the Federation, held in Richmond, Virginia's capital, late on Wednesday, in the latest abuse of remembrance during the nation's demonstrations.
The photos posted on social media showed the statue of Jefferson Davis, the pro-slave union president who ruled during the American Civil War from 1861 to 1865, and was shot down by two trucks and thrown as people chanted.
A drawing was placed on the base of the statue.
The statue was located on Avenue Avenue in Richmond, which is lined with many prominent symbols of the Confederacy, in the city that was the capital of the Confederate Union for most of the time of the war.
The murder of George Floyd in police custody in Minneapolis, Minnesota on May 25, and the ensuing anti-racist protests, sparked a campaign to remove statues and other symbols that glorified Confederate leaders.
