A tiger kills a “zoo guard” who was with her in the cage at the same moment.
A 55-year-old tiger zoo was killed by a tiger, who was fatally
wounded at the Zurich Zoo on Saturday.
In her statement, the zoo said that the tiger attacked its guard, and when a visitor witnessed the tragic event and raised the alarm bell, many zoo employees rushed to the tiger facility and tried to help their colleague, but he breathed his last.
The director of the zoo described the accident as a "very tragic event" at a short-term media conference, expressing his condolences to the carer's relatives.
According to the zoo press release, the entire facility was closed on Sunday.
