Today, Jeffrey Epstein, Giseline Maxwell's aide, was arrested on federal charges
When convicted perpetrator Jeffrey Epstein was found dead in a clear suicide in August, authorities were forced to shift their focus to his partners.
For decades, British socialman Gizlan Maxwell was one of the closest humiliating confidants. His alleged victims have accused her of being deeply involved in Epstein's criminal activities.
Several women accused her of being "the main conspirator" of Epstein and the "lady" whose job was to recruit young women.
On Friday, the 57-year-old was arrested and charged by the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)
What are the accusations and allegations against her?
Charges against Ms. Maxwell include:
Conspiracy charges to entice minors to travel to engage in sexual acts a minor glue to travel to engage in unlawful sexual acts
Conspiracy to transfer minors with the intention of engaging in criminal sexual activity
Transfer a minor with the intention of engaging in sexual sexual activity and two counts of perjury
Prosecutors allege that Ms. Maxwell "attracted and caused minor victims to travel to Epstein's residence" and that she would help "prepare them for and subject to sexual assault."
Many of the alleged victims said that Mrs. Maxwell facilitated their initial contact with Epstein, and often recruited them under the guise of legitimate work.
In court documents, which were published in August, Virginia Geoffrey said Maxwell was "Epstein's chief conspirator" "to purchase girls who had not yet reached the legal age for sexual activities."
They said that Mrs. Maxwell approached Mrs. Geoffer at the Mar-Lago resort in Donald Trump, where she worked as a dressing room owner, and offered her a job.
